Hello, denizens of the internet! In my ongoing quest to clear out my inbox, here are some interview answers. These are not at all in chronological order. Sorry. :(

From bofoddity, in which I talk about Aeryn Sun, vampires, my dream jobs, crack, and Christmas. )

From kate, in which I answer personal questions a bit too late for them to be of any use to her. )

Okay, I will answer more later.

The Souling Song

This one isn't technically a Christmas carol, what with All-Soul's Day being on Nov. 2. But, for some reason that I don't remember, I've always included it in my Christmas caro repetoire. It's more along the lines of "Here We Come A-Wassailing" in spirit, but I really like the dull, haunting version that I included.

Internets, if you found a video of David Bowie AND BING CROSBY. DOING A DUET. TOGETHER. OMGOMGOMG!! What would you do?

If you said that you would keep it all to yourself, I'm sorry, I must ask you to leave the internets now. Someone will be along to shoot you in the face in a moment.

He's so YOUNG! AND KEMPT!! And he as a 6-year-old son! Who gets very excited around Christmastime! And his family does lots of the same things other families do around Christmas time! WHAT A SHOCKER!! ILU DAVID BOWIIIIIIIIIE!! *throws panties*

No MP3s will be added for "Here We Come A-Wassailing". I'd forgotten that it's one of those songs where no one has done a version that sounds good. But if you have one that you like, send it to me, yeah?

This is my all-time favorite Christmas carol. I must have 50 versions of it. Onto the lyrics.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlement )

I'm tired tonight, so you're only getting the version that's sitting on my desktop since it's easiest to find. The Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlin do a fun version with some nice harmony and melody. I like to sing it, at least.

Right, so y'all know how April is poetry month? And some people post a poem a day in their LJ? Well I've declared November 24 - December 25 to be Christmas carol month. Once a day, I'll post all the lines I remember of one of my favorite Christmas carols, and a link to a recording of it. 99% of these recordings will be Mannheim Steamroller, but you'll survive, right?

If I'm missing lines/stanzas, feel free to correct me, so that next year I can be even better.

Uploaded to YouSendIt. If/When the link breaks, let me know.

ETA: Here's a version with words.

MICHAEL: One evening, a patient was brought into my clinic in the middle of the night. He was tortured so badly I couldn’t believe he was still breathing. A man was with him. It was the man on your radio. I’ll never forget the voice. He put a gun to my head and explained to me that my patient had robbed him and that he wanted me to save him so the pain would last longer. I did what I could. He said to come here for my money — my blood money. There’s a place between life and death. Amazing how long a man can linger there.
PRESCOTT: That’s enough, all right? Okay. Bring everything upstairs. We’re getting out of here. Tony? Tony, can you hear me?
THUG: What the hell is going on?
MICHAEL: I know this guy. He’ll have people outside the bank, in your truck, and on your boat. You have no idea who you’re dealing with.
