Christmas Eve Party
There are times when I absolutely love Da's side of the family. Da and Kerry went over to Auntie Judy's and I was gonna go over when mum was ready (she was on the phone with Jeremy). Well, she stayed on the phone and so when they were getting ready to play, Da ended up coming and getting me. So, like every year, we stood out on the front porch and played Christmas carols. It's usually just me (flute), Amanda (clarinet), Kerry (clarinet), Kristin (clarinet), and Uncle Ricky (trumpet) but this year Travis had an electric guitar. So that was a cool addition. I did not-so-bad considering I hadn't played my flute since last Christmas. I did wish I knew where my hobo gloves were, damnit. My hands froze off. And my index finger joint hurts cuz I haven't played in a while. ::pops and cracks it a lot:: Then inside for some talking, eating, etc etc. Then a bunch of us ended up in the living room singing Christmas carols. Apparently I know more lyrics and verses and songs than anybody else, so that was kind of cool. And we sounded fairly good. That was the cool part. :-D I need to remember stuff like this instead worrying about going there and then standing in a corner with a drink in one hand, surreptitiously worrying whatever worry-doll I have at the time (the lego pirate keychain Beth gave me currently) with the other hand once I'm there (which I did end up sorta-doing for most of the time anyway). That sentence is horrible. So, um, yeah. I'm a big fan of playing my flute and singing. Oh, and I got out of going to my neighbor's party and church. So I'm happy. The End. |
