I Hate Knitting

I am having epic problems knitting Eunny Jang's Endpaper Mitts. I started them a week ago, and got all the way to two row into the pattern before I realized I was using the wrong size needles, and it looked too small to fit the person I'm making them for anyway.

Frog number one.

Found the correct pair of needles and reknit it. Got to the same point, looked at it, decided it was too damn small to fit again.

Frog number two.

I went up a needle size for both the cuff and the larger needle size. Totally in the clear, right? Well I'm one pattern repeat in. It's lookin' real small guys. Real small. So I pulled out a tape measure. It's supposed to be 4" across. It's currently... 2¼". Somehow, Eunny is managing to get 8st/in on needles two sizes smaller than mine. Me? I'm getting 10st/in.

So now I'm up to frog number three. And I don't have any free needles bigger than US4s. This is just really fucking frustrating and who the fuck gets 8st/in on US2s???? I don't even knit particularly tightly! Fuck, I knit loosely.

Christ.

The one time I tried knitting, I knitted so damn tight I was about an inch from my eyes with my fingers touching, so...I got nothing.

*needs to relax*

7-8 sti on US2 sounds about right to me... I think that's my regular sock gauge, more or less. What yarn are you using?
