He could have been a "Highlander" style immortal... or His followers could have known of a sarcophagus (ala "Stargate SG-1") and chose that particular site to entomb Him. Heck, he could have even been a Goa'uld and it just took 3 days to repair the damage to the host. There's no reason to automatically suspect the undead. They get enough bad press as it is without having Christianity blamed on them as well... :)

well, of course they missed the vital organs, that's not how crucifiction works. It's rather grisly considering it works by essentially drowning the person
