I hate crying in front of people.

I. Misty Dodge is a Ho
Today was the day I had my first meeting of the term with Misty Dodge.

Except she wasn't there.

This is one of the main reasons why I don't like her. At all. Twenty bucks says she's going to send me an email asking me where I was and trying to cover her ass. But it's not going to work. I'm thinking of going in to Traver or someone and asking to change my advisor because I really. Really. Do. Not. Like. Her.

II. Mrs. Ferrell, However, Is Not
So, when I gave up waiting for her to show up, I went to give Mrs. Ferrell my SISP summary paper. Conversation went as followed:
Me: Here's my summary paper.
Her: Are you okay?
Me: Yep.
Her: Okay...
Me: I never came in for my meeting last term; is there anything I need to tell you other than it's going good?
Her: As long as it's going okay... Are you really okay?
Me: *SOB*

I hate crying in front of people. Hate hate HATE it. I have no problem admitting that I do, no problem writing about it in my LJ, but I HATE doing it in front of people.

But it's okay, cuz I made myself stop after a couple seconds. And we talked a bit about how I was doing, and school, and going off to college. And when I left she gave me a hug, not a whimpy hug like some many teachers give, but a "*SQUEEZE* it's all gonna be okay" hug.

So very very weird to be hugged by teachers.

What is it about Mrs. Ferrell? How many people did I talk to all day without breaking down? Lots. And it's so weird, cuz we hated each other at the beginning of last year. And then, once I got over being a snarky anti-social bitch and she got over her first impression of me as a slacker bitch, she quickly became my favorite teacher.

III. And Barys Is Just Weird
But, yeah. Barys was all surprised to see me down there. He mentioned something about "oh, wait, no, you haven't graduated yet" and I can never tell when he's kidding. So, either he was joking about how I'm never down at the Academy or he was being... weird.

IV. Misty Dodge Isn't Cool, Mrs. Ferrell Is
Did I mention that Misty Dodge never showed up? Yeah. So not happy about that. If I remembered I had a meeting, she damn well should have remembered. Which one of us is the adult again?

So, yeah, I guess there's something nice about someone noticing there's something wrong and not letting you get away with brushing it off.

V. And Lastly, a Bit About Music
Oh, weird story. Not really weird, but whatever. There was this song I used to hear a lot on the radio and stuff back when I was little. The chorus went like "Duh duh duh duh duh duhduhduh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh" and I could never remember any of the lyrics because I suck like that. A couple weeks ago, I discovered Suzanne Vega and was like, "Heyyyy I really like this folksy music!". Today coming home, I heard that song on the radio and managed to remember some of the lyrics. I google it, and guess who sings it. Yeah, that's right, Suzanne Vega. Go me.

Aren't our meetings with Misty Dodge on Tuesdays?

Everyone else's is, but for some reason she decided mine and someone else's was going to be on Mondays. Because the only time I have free, she doesn't have free on Tuesdays. Or something like that.

Grrrrrrrrr.

I've always credited Mrs. Ferrell's super-ability to care to her occupancy as a Humanities teacher. There's something about those Humanities types that gives them the inhuman ability to comfort and be there in times of need. When I was having an absolutely miserable time at the academy it was Mrs. Ferrell who helped me cope with my problems. So... double-X bonus to Mrs. Ferrell for being an awesome teacher!

Mr. Barys is probably poking fun at you ;-) I've never caught him being serious.

Regarding Misty Dodge, send her an email asking when she was planning on meeting you, so that you've got a paper trail of your own. If this is a continuing problem, CC her corresponding Master Teacher (Ferrell if Misty is the Visiting Scholar for Humanities, Barys if Mathematics, etc). And if nothing else works, talk to whomever is in charge of the academy!

Lastly, out of curiousity. What are you doing your SISP on?

Also, who is this? I've friended you for some reason and cannot help but wonder...

Ferrell is a love. I mean, I literally cried my way through the Academy (Hahahaha... Why did I go there? Why?? In the long run though, it was great...) and she was fabulous. Barys is a bizarre man, that's a given. The one thing that drives me nuts is that I e-mailed them all about my paper and never heard anything back. If they couldn't answer my questions, they could have said so! I was sad... Then again, Northeastern could have eaten the responses. One never knows...

I went to the guidance people when Traver made me cry about colleges and they didn't do shit... but since Traver isn't your academic advisor, you could probably go to him about it...
