What a Lovely Day

Lessee...

I got up at 8:30 so that I could take a shower. Well, I almost didn't get up because my mind associates my first alarm to mean "Oh, by the by, you have to get up in fourty-five minutes", not "Dude. Shower. Now." But then I remembered (read: the kittens knocked my phone off my bed, so I had to get up to turn it off) so I went and showered.

Then I made a handful of peanut butter & fluff sammiches. And grabbed a handful of cornbread. And refilled my water bottle. And then I left to go to Ariel's house.

Oh, and I got dressed between those two paragraphs. So I wasn't driving through the back roads of everywhere nekkid.

And then we headed off to Quabbin Reservoir with Ariel & Sid & Jocelyn & Tom in Ariel's car, and me & Gwen & Rosemary in my car.

Quabbin is wicked far away.

Then we wandered through the woods and down a mountain and into a grassy field with no water in sight. Yum yum lunch! Fritos + cornbread = yum.

Then everyone 'cept Ariel and Sid decided to use me as a pillow. And we all kindasortabutnotreally took naps. For a long time. It was either a puppy pile with me as the mommy puppy or a piggy pile with me as the mommy pig. Either way, I was nice and warm and being a good pillow.

Alas, there was sun. But that part of the story comes later.

Then we got up and sorta moved around. Then we hiked back UP the mountain. I almost died of asthma cuz I'm a fucktard and didn't bring my inhaler. Then we went and got icecream. And I bought Gwen and Rosemary icecream and a drink cuz I'm cool like that.

Then I lost at following people and did really really bad at getting back to Ariel's house. It was quite funny. But they lose at waiting for the people who're following them, so nyah. :-P

Then we were back at Ariel's house, and Ariel and Sid left. And Gwen and Rosemary left. And me and Tom and Jocelyn sat in my car and talked for a good long while. I hope Ariel's mum doesn't think we were being wicked sketchy!

And then we-all left, too, and I went back home.

And then I realized that my arms? Were bright flaming red. And they were sorta burning. And they felt hot to the touch.

So I slathered them in aloe and they felt better for a wee bit.

Then an hour or two later, they were redder, burning-er, and hotter. So enter more aloe.

Repeat that once more.

So now they're bright bright flaming super-red-burned. And they feel like they're burning. And I can feel the heat coming off of them.

So I'm basically being slow-roasted. ;-) Alas, I am too foolhardy (omg remember the Hardy Boys??) to go take a cold shower. So I shall continue to cook my arms. But I do have icepacks on them now, so yay!

In conclusion, I hate the sun and I hate Irish skin.

Also, I have a voice mail from Jose on my cell phone. I love my crazy crazy internet people. ;-)

There is a Christopher Durang sketch entitled "The Hardy Boys and the Mystery of Where Babies Come From," involving the two boys, a mysterious bun in Nancy Drew's oven, and a sex-obsessed school nurse. I've read the play before, but my boyfriend Dan directed it as his senior one act this year, and I just came back from the show (well, and from going out with Dan...it's slightly after 1 AM, they didn't run that late). And it was wonderful funny and you should go read Durang. And David Ives. That's all, bye!
