Some legends freak me out.

Lando and I had a nice little conversation about myths and legends the other night.

I happened to mention wendigos. Good to know that they freak someone else out just as much as they freak me out. Them Native Americans sure as hell do come up with some freakyass shit.

Didn't sleep much last night. But that's more because I went from being awake and freaked out to being awake and pissed off. See, I figured that I'd read a nice unscary book until I got tired. So, I picked up Dan Brown's Digital Fortress.

Now, I loved The Da Vinci Code, in spite of the fact that it was a lot of made up bullshit. He managed to make it all believable, if your suspension of disbelief was working properly.

But Digital Fortress? First of all, the writing is condescending. So it rubs me the wrong way to being with. Second of all, there was some crazy ass sentence along the lines of "Only a third of the population knew that the NSA even existed".

Um, what? That's going waaaay too far, dude. The NSA's been part of my collection of government acronyms since first grade, or there-abouts. FBI, CIA, IRS, NSA, INS.

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

My suspensin of disbelief breaks at concepts that retarded.

I'm going to have to use "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" the next time a WTF moment happens and I'm with one of my military buddies... I wonder if any of 'em will even get it. :)
