Here's a rundown of everything I did from Thursday to Saturday. Because I'm bored.
Thursday I had an absolutely brilliant idea of what to get Lexi for graduation. So I skipped off to Barnes 'n' Nobles and ransacked the DVD section. It took me a bit, but I finally found three Fraggle Rock DVDs. Mission accomplished. And then I found a box set of all the Batman movies for cheap-ish. So I bought that too. All seven DVDs? Around fifty bucks. Oh yeah.
Then I got food and went to Tom's house and watched History of the World: Part 1 and had to socialize with his mum and sister (whose name I SWORE I wasn't going to forget. Except then I did. CURSES!) but they were nice and I escaped unscathed. Relatively.
Then on Friday, I wrapped Lexi's present and did a super-sexy wrapping job. I packed up a backpack of stuff, folded laundry, and packed my car. I nabbed my iPod and plugged it into the computer so it could update so I would have an audiobook or two to listen to on the way up to Lexi's. I sat, waiting for iTunes to open.
And waiting.
And waiting.
I rebooted it. The computer still wouldn't recognize it. I rebooted the computer. Still no dice.
I'm getting quite frustrated. I manage to get it to connect long enough to reformat, but that still doesn't help. It still won't freaking connect, and now the songs that were on it before are gone. So, I spend a good three hours trying to fix it.
During this, Da calls me, asking if I've left yet. Of course I haven't, and I tell him that. Apparently, he then called Mum and started yelling at her about how I should've left already cuz I'm going to have to sit in traffic and all the Hell's Angels are going to be out and yadda yadda yadda. For some reason, Mum decided we weren't telling him that I was going to Gwen's party.
Both of my parents are fucking idiots.
So, Mum gets home and starts hovering over me, asking me if the iPod is fixed yet and trying to get me to leave before Da gets home. Eventually, it gets to yelling at me about the iPod. I am quite upset by this point. I keep trying to get the computer to recognize the damn thing, but it refuses. Eventually, Da gets home and Mum's flipping out on me again, so I grab my stuff and tell them both to fuck off and leave.
So, I get gas and go to Gwen's party. There I played some Texas Hold'em and managed to loseloselose my money fast! Rosemary and I teamed up at one point and that was fun. And then it was 7 and I told Lexi I'd be at her house at 8:30 and it was an hour-fourty-five-minute drive from Gwen's house, so I decide to leave.
Insert me trying to find the frickin' 290-towards-Marlboro exit the sketchy way that Gwen showed me the other day. Eventually I do and I head off. I have batteries and a CD player and a handful of CDs. The good thing that came of my iPod being broke is that I found my Zana, Don't! CD and fell in love with it again.
The drive was lovely. Lexi's house was mad-easy to find. Her driveway is INSANELY long and twisty and steep holy crap. I didn't get there 'till 9-ish, though. Oops. We chilled and talked for a while. I got bit and now have two lovely half moon tooth mark bruises on my arm. Mike showed up around midnight, I think, bearing a gamecube and Wario Ware Inc. Mega Party Game$ (I think that's what it was, at least *shrug*). Mad-fun and mad-addicting. Even if I had a sorta broken controller.
So I got up around 8 on Saturday morning and got dressed and stuff and went downstairs and chilled in the kitchen while Lexi was getting ready to go to her graduation. Then she left and I talked to her grandma for a while. Eventually Mike came downstairs and I hitched a ride to graduation with him. It was a nice ceremony. There was a joke about rocks that amused me greatly. Mike left right after Lexi got her diploma. It was outside and there were 50 kajillion people there. I chilled in the bleachers with a towel, spacing out after Lexi was back sitting down.
Then it was over and I went and found her and I saw Ben!! That meant I'd officially seen and talked to everyone in NH that I planned on. I followed Lexi around while she talked to people for a bit, then we headed back to her house. Her car was slipping a bit once we got to her road, so she got out to check for a flat.
Turns out someone broke the valve-thingy on her tire and keyed "fag" into one of the doors. Seriously? Who does that to someone on their graduation day. WTF.
Her da came and put the spare on, we went back to her house and she called the cops and they were assholes, so her da dealt with it. Pah.
Then we got ready for the party. We blew up balloons and tied them around the yard and stuff. Mike eventually came back. Then we chilled around the house and played a bit more gamecube. And I found a gameboy with one of the Mario games I like in it and played that off and on for a while. And then people started arriving. So I kinda hid inside in the kitchen with Mike cuz omg-family-people.
I had to explain MassAcademy to them 3859768429 times cuz everyone kept going, "Oh, so where did you graduate from?" etc etc. I choose bad places to hide.
Oh, and I obtained this annoying little-ish girl as a shadow. Guh. Why couldn't the cute, nice little kids decide I was the best thing since sliced bread?
I actually got to talk to Mike and stuff, more than I did the first time I met him. I liked him. He was really nice and friendly and good to talk to. Lexi can keep him. ;-)
It got to be fairly late, so I decided to head home. The drive home was nice and traffic-less again. Just proves my da's a paranoid whacko.
I dragged my stuff into the house and walked into a war zone. Mum and Da are going at it again. >_< So, I went over Tom's house again and saw King of New York (or something like that). And then I came home and Da had locked me out. So I had to call Mum again and make her come downstairs and unlock the frickin' screen door so I could get in. Gods.
And now it's Sunday and I'm just going to laze around my room all day. Screw this Father's Day shit. If I'm lucky, some movies will finish downloading and I can watch then.
I spent all morning fiddling around with my iPod. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it again and fiddled for a while and finally got the thing working again. So that's all good. So frustrating, though. Yuck.
