Raw Thursday Leaves
My mouth feels like crap. I'm fairly certain that little gremlins crawled in last night, ran around and sanded my gums down to bare nerves, then went away. This is quit distressing, as I am still in posession of a tongue. It's a perky little tongue that likes to explore, even when it knows its surroundings inside out. Read: I keep touching my mouth with my tongue and it hurts gorramit! In other news: Please, parents/authors/whoever. If your [character's] name is Thursday, please please please don't name your [character's] son Friday. This has been bothering me for almost a week now. Jasper Fforde, I picked up your book at B&N and scanned the back, now Thursday Next and her son Friday have been haunting me! Curse you for showing me that people think that's okay! Actually, your name is Jasper Fforde. For that, I both forgive and love you. Speaking of bookstores, I went to B&N the other night to pick up House of Leaves. Let me tell you, going into a bookstore with the thought, "Oh, I remember where I vaguely remember where I was standing when I saw it and what the binding looks like, so I don't need to know the name" is a really frickin' stupid idea. Number one, every spot in a bookstore looks the same. They're all shelves! Of books! Nothing to distinguish! Your five minute trip will turn into half an hour! Also, you don't remember what the binding looks like. No, really, you don't. That white binding with pictures of houses on it will have transformed itself into a black binding with "House of Leaves" in freaky red writing on it by the time you get back there. But I have House of Leaves and I am pleased. |

Seriously though, I've heard it's great. It kinda scares me too much to read it, though.

I've heard that it's really super good, but I haven't started reading it yet. Too much on my plate at the moment. But it certainly looks awesome. =)
