No more Rex.

Mum took him to the vet today. They did a whole big giant huge examination. Besides the fact that he was blind, deaf, arthritic, and insanely old for a golden retriever, he also had giant tumors in his kidneys. Giant cancerous tumors. The sick smell that he emitted was renal failure. I knew that we should've done this at the beginning of summer like we originally planned.

I'm glad that they did put him down. I really am; it was for the best and all that jazz. But, Jesus. Who the fuck decided that pets would have shorter lifespans than people? What the fucking hell.

And I'm sorry that I didn't go to the bonfire, guys. I just couldn't face fifty kajillion people at once. As it is, I can't count the number of times I almost started crying today.

I'm just glad that I had enough warning so that I could say goodbye.

awww... Losing a pet is really really hard, especially if its one you've had a long time. The extra time to say goodbye helps I guess, but still, nothing quite prepares you. ((((((((((((Erin))))))))))
