Hey guys

Who wants to help me build a mini trebuchet? It will involve trips to a buy-wood-place (lumber yard?) and, um, building stuff. Scaling stuff.

Please help me destroy things.

Reasonable rates, and payment plans.

Hehe. (http://techhouse.brown.edu/cgi-bin/photojoe.pl?basedir=/photos/&dir=20010525%20Commencement%20Weekend%202001&pic=052613pikadoom.JPG&thumbs=)

Your school needs to have program houses. They make everything better.

Damnit! Clearly I shoulda bribed Brown into letting me in, 'stead of just sending that half-assed application!

No more LOST episodes for you, youngster. You're cut off. ;-)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT MY LOST!!!!!!!!! :'(

Actually, this comes from googling how to spell trebuchet for a paper I'm writing and I found SEXYAWESOME cheap FREE plans.

Thus I need to build one.

Really.

I swear.

It's not because I idolize Locke.

Not at all.

[identity profile] chaosvizier.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh huh, sure it's not. Because Locke and whatsisname totally did not build a trebuchet to try and hammer through the hatch. Nope. See that? Not a trebuchet.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
No way! not at all! That a, um... hatch-hammering-through thing. Yeah! That's right! A hatch-hammering-through thing! Not a trebuchet at all!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to confiscate those DVD's now, ma'am. Step away from the telly and no one gets hurt.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Noooooooo!!! Not my new DVDs!!! Over my dead body! >(

my friend Tyler is at UNC with a mechanical engineering scholarship. He broke the school's 40 year record in highschool physics for projectile distance with his mini-trebuchet.

I could get him to pass along the schematics if you're interested.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)

Sooooo what if I built a GIANT trebuchet and catapulted myself across to wherever you're from? Would you wanna help then? :-D

[identity profile] notalent.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I'm in LA so you will need quite the trebuchet. I'm an ancient history geek myself, so I know how they are built. Though now with better materials a catapullt is prolly better.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah, but say catapult. Now say trebuchet.

Which one sounds cooler? yeah. :-D
