Suitemate Agreement
Today there was a meeting in the basement about suitemates and how to deal with them. First Stacy called and I had to leave to answer my phone. Then Lando called and I had to leave AGAIN. *fingershake* But yay for phone calls! We got our suitemate agreement written and turned in. A lot of it was courtesy stuff that we already follow. We dealt with how Jess always cleans the room hardcore and how Aly & I occaisonally do a surface pickup, but no one else helps with the hardcore stuff. And how no one cleans the bathroom. Emily tried to claim that she did, but the three of us agreed that that was bullshit and it was too disgusting for her to have ever cleaned it anytime past the first day or so. I addressed without naming names how we leave the room with Emily in here, come back and the door is WIDE OPEN but she's nowhere to be seen. I'm sure we've done it a couple of times, but that seems to be the repeat offender. Jess brought up that we all need to bring our keys and Husky cards every time we leave the room. Mostly because we go in and out all the time, so we can't be guaranteed to be in the room when you come back. There was other stuff that we wrote down, but nothing very important or relevent to the major issues we've been having. I think we added that everyone has the right to kick everyone out of the room if they want to, and verbally agreed that for Steve, that means going into Aly & Jess' room. Jess & Aly are the only ones who can kick him out completely. I brought up one point just for verbal agreement. I said that if you do forget something, and it's some ridiculous hour like after 2AM, to just suck it the hell up and go find somewhere else to sleep or go to an RA. Emily tried to claim that she'd done that once. I called bullshit (4 times that I know of) and Jess mentioned that 8AM is just as bad as 2AM. So, verbal agreement that unless it's between 10AM and 11PM, suck it up and go the hell away or get one of the RAs to let you in. Jess pointed out that knocking once or twice was fine, but knocking for HOURS is fucking ridiculous. I don't know if she heard me, but I under-my-breathed that there was no fucking way I was getting out of bed to let someone in. Emily said fine to that, got up, went into her room. We made her come back out to sign the forms, then she went straight back. So, yeah. If they (she) don't stick to that, I think we're going to add it to the written one. Later on, we're coming up with a cleaning schedule and a room agreement for everyone who hangs out in here all the time. I think Steve agreed verbally to the one we wrote up for the real suitemates? And while verbal agreements don't mean shit, it's still something. For the Emily thing and the Steve thing. Remind me later on to talk about the Great Room Switch of 2005. I have pictures! |
