School's Out for the Winter

Today was my last day of classes. The level of jubilance coursing through my body right now can not be expressed with mere words.

For five days, I don't have to do anything but chill in bed and sleep. Then one final, then I'm kicked out the next day. The instant I get home, I'm going to scarf some Swedish Spritz and make some cinnamon ornaments.

There's a large possibility I will also be utterly ripshit while doing so, for there is a large possibility that my family bought a fake tree this year. Personally, if you're going to buy a fake tree, you might as well not buy one at all.

I suppose if it's fake, I'll go find a very very very small, real one and put it in my room. Then the kitties will have something to play with.

Lastly, I have two links for everyone.

The Naked Face
This here is an article about reading people's faces. It is utterly fascinating, and makes me want to go find some of the tapes and learn how to read everyone.

Going Geisha
Every other person has been telling me how wonderful Memoirs of a Geisha is lately. I admit, I haven't read it and I don't know a thing about geishas, so I don't know how correct the article is. But, it talks about a few reasons why I'm wary of reading it (and why I wish everyone would just shut up about it).

It's a wonderful feeling when holidays are suddenly upon you, isn't it?

As for trees, I have to admit that my family has always had a plastic tree but it was always a nice one. I don't think I could be bothered with a real one.

Good luck for your last final. :)

Gods do I love holidays! If only because they mean I don't have to be awake any time before noon. Ever. *swoons*

The tree thing is one of the many those things that only applies to my family because we've always had a real tree. To me, it's not Christmas unless I have to water the tree every morning/night and vacuum up the needles and have the whol smell filling up the house.

Ah, well, more of an incentive to move out sooner. =)

I suppose it depends where you move to. One of my LJ friends is currently in the midst of a battle with her housemates to have a real tree, as opposed to a plastic one. Christmas trees can be quite a divisive. :)

Hahahahahahahaha! I shouldn't find that funny, but... Oh man. Luckily, assuming I/they don't decided to hate them/me, the people I plan on finding an apartment with once our housing guarantee runs out agree that real trees are the way to go.

And we're totally going to sneak one into the dorms next year. =D

There's been some much better work done about Geisha, especially stuff like the Discovery Channel's documentary about modern day geisha. Basically, the book/movie is in part what that article talks about (although it is being slightly overly critical). Still, from a literary standpoint, the book is fairly good.
