The New Who
Wow. I can't believe we're already on the tenth doctor. I don't think there will be spoilers for "Children in Need" or "The Christmas Special", but just in case... "Children in Need" was a wee short little mini-episode about six minutes long, that set up for "The Christmas Special". I was... not impressed. To say the least. I've been watching (reruns of) Doctor Who since I was a tiny little thing. So I grew up understanding that The Way of the Doctor is to change faces (and personalities, a bit!) every so often. I've never been sad to see a Doctor go. Until now. After CiN, if given the option of 9 vs. 10, I would've picked 9 most emphatically, and possibly spat on 10. There was one moment where I thought "Hey, maybe he isn't so bad." but, on the whole, the new Doctor did not grab me. At all. But! Then there was TCS! And dear GODS it was GLORIOUS and I was a FOOL. 10 is just as adorable as 9 was. Admittedly, it's a different sort of adorable, but it's still there. His manic-ness is good, his quips are awesome, he adds wonderfully to the show. I'd forgotten how addictive this show is and how much I love it to pieces. It makes me wish that they'd release all the seasons on DVD so that I can revel in the awesomeness (and nostalgia) of the previous doctors. Everything is right again and I don't mind the change. Admittedly, I'll miss the leather jacket, but I missed 4's scarf (which made a brief appearance in the closet in TCS) and I survived. Which reminds me. I wish I'd taken a picture of the scarf with me to buy the yarn. Most of the colors are almost right, but there's a couple that just... aren't. The brown is far too light, for one. Ah, well, such is the way of the world. And it is till awesome. I think I'll go make cookies. In other news, And really fucking cool. |

I think (?) it's on BBC1 in the UK. But the internet is very helpful in providing torrents and such of the episodes. ;-)
And I think it's coming to Sci-Fi in the US in... sometime in the near future, but I'm not 100% positive.
