We all know I'm annoying. It's very very true. I will nag and nitpick and badge and bug for quite extended periods of time because, quite frankly, I'm having fun. You can do two things to get me to stop. You can ignore me, or you can give me what I want. Nine times out of ten I don't really want it anyway, so I'll give it right back! It's when you start causing me physical pain that things get interesting. See, I? Am not hurting you in a physical manner. I am not touching you, I am not punching you, I don't have your arm twisted up behind your back nor am I pulling at your hair. Key part of this being I am not touching you. You want to get back at me? Lovely. Start annoying me the same way I'm doing it to you. You can badger and bother right back at me! Lookit that! But don't fucking touch me, because then you're making it personal. Then you're taking what once would've lasted two or three minutes, and causing it to last tens, hundreds of times longer. "Oh ho ho, Erin!" you say. "But it's your choice to continue! You could've stopped before it got to that! Allow them to express their frustration as they see fit!" Know what? They could've ignored me. They could've changed rooms and shut the door. They could've given me whatever I was whining about. Sure, I started it. Sure, I could've stopped. But I started a verbal assault, and they could've refused to be engaged. You move it into the physical realm, and suddenly I'm pissed the fuck off. And not like you! Not like you, who will forget about it by morning. I'm pissed the fuck off so that when you ask to borrow a movie, I say no. So that I don't make food for y'all. So that I keep my fan for myself and change the passwords on my computer. Because hey! I'm ripshit! And I carry a grudge a long way! In conclusion, don't be an idiot.
