Someone turn off the sun

I just had some of the worst shiraz ever. *cleans palate with some whiskey*

I kind of want to work as a graveyard-shift security guard in a morgue. Do I need any experience to do that? 'Cause I think I'd be good at it and I think it'd be good for me. Plus, Ewan McGregor makes it look fun.

The wine is sitting behind me, mocking me.

Utter Geek. Most awesome site ever. I encourage you to visit it.

I need to write two R/S fics tonight. Yay for drabbles, boo for wanting to do more with one of them. Expect an update with at least one of them sometime before midnight.

It's too damn hot!

Which wine?

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
The Little Penguin white shiraz. It's from somewhere in Australia.

Way it's sweet when you drink it, but the aftertaste is waaaaay too bitter for me to want to drink it again.

[identity profile] emiweebee.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
That's the strange rose, yes?

I haven't tried it; want very much to like Little Penguin, but I'm not sure I'm very enamoured with it. But I wanted to like it because I'm a sucker for advertising.

I rather think being a sommelier (or sommeliere...do they feminize the word?) would be very interesting. Have to work up the money to take a course to find out.

Yeah. And I quite agree, on all points. =D

I got totally suckered by the pretty picture on Woop Woop's shiraz, which was good. I dislike their whites, though.

Unfortunately, that's the extent of my wine knowledge at the moment. White, rose, red. And most of the wine we drink here is Chardonnay, and most of the names are from France. The extent of my knowledge. *sigh*

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
My wine knowledge is similar. Mostly I know things like "the ones with the deer on them are yummy, the ones with the penguins on them suck" which, well, isn't that helpful. ;-) My family's always been more into hard liquors. Mm mm good!

[identity profile] emiweebee.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Mine's a bit hard liquor-y, but my parents have always drunk wine. They moved on from boxed wine when I was in middle school, I think. :D

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Hee hee! Boxed wine always fascinated me. I mean, it's like a keg! But for wine!

[identity profile] emiweebee.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
OMG, best thing ever? Beer balls. I haven't seen one in a million years, but when I was little my paternal grandparents used them as squirrel deterrants on the birdfeeders.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
They used them as squirrel deterrants...?

[identity profile] emiweebee.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, put them on top of the feeder and the squirrel can't climb down into the feeder. They put it on empty, of course. :D

Couldn't think of the right word.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2006-07-04 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhh! I was picturing them full and was a weeeee bit confused.

Actually, get the squirrels drunk, they probably couldn't balance enough to climb onto a feeder, so maybe not such a bad idea!

What did you eat before you drank that?

Also! It's way too freaking hot to be drinking shiraz... It's chardonnay weather... Or... Haven't you yankees ever heard of mint juleps?

I'm kidding, by the way. I have never had a mint julep in my life and I think it would be pretty nasty. Although I'm a big fan of the Southern Comfort Kamikaze.
