I don't know how many of you guys know, or care, but I am heading down to Alabama to visit tylergrrls. I'm leaving on the 22nd and coming back who knows when.

I hope they don't kill me.

My car is a sad, sad car, so I'll be taking the bus. And the meme explained how that works for me, so I am no longer panicking about taking Greyhound for the first time ever (I also maybe printed out the thread so I can reread it when I start getting nervous again SHUT UP THIS IS HOW I COPE OKAY???)

Sadly, my laptop is broken, and my new laptop is not done yet, so I might be computerless for a period of time, even though Bree says they have plenty of computers. So I'm loading up my iPod with my entire music collection, plus Life on Mars, plus some Good Eats and The Real Hustle, and Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Anything else I should add, do you think?

I am trying very hard not to forget to pack anything, since this is not like driving to NY, where if I forgot something I can turn around and go get it at any time. I'm probably going to forget something important, like my meds or something. And I'm scouring my portion of the apartment from top to bottom so that I come back to a clean place. And I'm trying to learn 7 weeks worth of linear algebra in 2 days for my final on Tuesday.

Oh my gods I'm going on a vacation for the first time ever. I hope they do not hate me and I hope I get there okay and I hope they do not kill me oh my gods.

Lists are good. Lists are essential, especially for those things (like meds and hairbrushes) that have to be packed at the very last possible second.

I hear traveling by bus is pretty much the most loathesome way possible to get around the country short of hitchhiking. ;-)

Then again, my cousin told me that, and he's not too bright.

You should stop somewhere in NC and enjoy the awesomeness... Although, I feel I should tell you that you picked a terrible time to come down here. You know how I'm always telling you about how pretty and green everything is? Yeah, everything's dead in this part of NC. It hasn't rained in a month and it's been nearly a month of days with high temps over 90 degrees. It's killing my business. I have BIG maple trees dying in the field. Oh, I got a cat.

Yeah, I know, but it's the only time I have a two-week break from school. Are you anywhere near Charlotte? I have an hour layover there at, like, 9am on Wednesday.

I am within a pretty short drive of Charlotte, but I'll be stuck at work on Wednesday :-( :-( :-(

I would normally probably be able to get by coming in late, but today has been my first week of classes and my grandfather is highly pissed that I've been missing work to go to class (although he IS the one who insisted that I go to school...).
