Kudzu (the green monster vine) IS scary, especially if you're unfortunate enough to get it on your property. That shit can grow like THREE FEET A DAY and you CAN. NOT. KILL IT. It's an invasive species from Japan. Thanks, Japan.

Yeah, dirt/clay down here = red. Bet you don't have fancy-colored dirt in Mass. :-P

The dirt at my house is all clay-like (There used to be a brick factory across the street.), but it's not red. That's disappointing.
