Oh, no. I've been to Maine, but only as a tourist, I'm afraid. (Many Mainers must hate people from MA coming up there for some fun--or to retire.)

Oh, I dunno! We always went down to Boston for the big city life. :D And I'm from a tiny, tiny town where a great deal of the population was made up of people who came to live there in their summer homes only a few months a year, so I have a different perspective on the whole thing.

Though I suppose now I am one of those people, too, since my mother rents out our house and I only go visit in the summer. :D

I suspect most year-long residents hate "summer residents," regardless of the location... unless they run a business that relies on tourists.
