HOW I SPENT MY MORNING

My car's in the shop near cowtown, so I stayed there overnight last night and drove my dad's car to work today. It was an hour drive, so I got up nice and early and left in plenty of time to get to work at 9AM. Four and a half hours later, I finally arrived.

Mass. Pike reopens after lengthy delays
Way to understate the length of the delays.
to the relief of motorists who were in backups for up to 10 miles.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA. Various radio stations kept me up to date informing me that the backup was generally around 12 to 14 miles, and at one point one of them said it was "almost 20 miles". Not this 10 shit.
For much of the morning, traffic was at a crawl
LOL NO. WE WERE LUCKY IF WE GOT TO CRAWL. MOSTLY WE JUST SAT THERE AND SANG TO OURSELVES.

I'm sorry you can't count, reporter :( At that point of the pike there were 4 lanes of traffic, one being 'exit only'. All three right hand lanes were closed.

OKAY LET ME JUST POINT OUT HERE, FOLKS. THAT I GOT ON AT EXIT 10A YOU KNOW WHERE THE NEXT EXIT IS?? Okay, fair point, it is exit 11, but at that point it seemed like it was just going to be a short delay because it's not like you can SEE miles down the pike and SEE that it's backed up all the way to the NEXT EXIT.
HELLO I WAS TRAPPED ON THIS HIGHWAY. THERE WERE HUGE GROUPS OF CARS THAT JUST PULLED OVER AND THE PEOPLE IN THEM GOT OUT AND WERE PARTYING. I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING, THESE WERE PEOPLE IN BUSINESS SUITS AND SHIT JUST LOUNGING AGAINST THEIR CARS IN GROUPS AND SHOOTIN THE SHIT.
Also, I saw a guy peeing.
You guys, I was in my dad's car. I didn't have my Sudoku book. I didn't have my speakers so I could listen to my iPod. I couldn't even listen to his CDs because the CD player is broken. Do you have any idea what sort of torture that was??
As a result, I've read half of the third issue of New Genre, decided that "Hobby Farm Home" is a real shitty magazine, written two pages of an SGA Canada AU, learned all of the words to "Tanglewood Tree" (although the tune is shaky on the bridge), firmly planted the wrong words of "Day of the Clipper" in my head (but I've got the tune down pat!), and resolved to never ever go anywhere without a shitton of stuff to do.
