In Which Our Heroine Thinks About SGA Far Too Much

So, I spent the entire ride into work this morning trying to rationalize the Michael arc so that I wouldn't think about- well, okay, see? I am real bad about not thinking about things.

Anyway. I don't mean I tried to rationalize the Michael arc for myself, because if you ignore the... um. If you ignore your preconceived notions of the characterization of the characters involved, it works really well to show that the good guys aren't always good, blah blah blah. That works in my head, I'll take that.

The problem is, I don't think that's what the writers meant by it. So I've been trying to figure out the purpose of that arc and...

I can't.

There are a multitude of problems with the entire thing, a multitude of reasons why it doesn't make sense in canon, a multitude of evidence that the writers didn't actual think out what they were doing.

WTF.

N, this is why I avoid fandom itself at all costs. Meme fandom and the little groups I've created with my friends are good enough for me. ALSO IT MEANS I NEVER HAVE TO READ BADFIC.

no but see but see. I learnt my lesson, right? I added all the JE comms to my RSS feeds and now I never, ever see anyone's comments and its much better for me! and I have like 3 flisters who are in it and 2 of them are crazy Aiba/Jun shippers and the other posts cool pictures!
