So, I just finished watching Cloverfield. There was a lot of flailing at emiweebee during the movie, and a lot of babbling to her about apocalypses and awesome and cool shit, and maybe I'll right a reaction post or something, but I want to say this now.

The Cloverfield monster? Is the dolphins, and Manhattan is the porpoises.

The scene where the monster is looking down at Hud is my favorite scene in the entire movie. I loved that there was intelligence in its eyes. This wasn't just some random floundering lost creature of the deep. This was a monster who was just fucking around for shits and giggles. Like dolphins beating on a porpoise.

Now I'm looking forward to Cloverfield 2: Revenge of the Dolphins. A bunch of dolphin hoodlums gang up to "take back the streets" from Cloverfield, but he's not gonna take their shit lying down. It's on like Dolphin Kong. Cameo appearance by Flipper as an elderly mentor figure to the gang. Coming July 2009 everywhere.
