In Which Our Heroine Makes a List

Things There Are Nothing Better Than:

The sun.

Sitting on moss in the sun.

Taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Reading a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Climbing a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Hiking in the woods to climb a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Going barefoot while hiking in the woods to climb a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Walking through ankle-deep moss when going barefoot while hiking in the woods to climb a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Going through mid-calf-deep dead leaves before walking through ankle-deep moss when going barefoot while hiking in the woods to climb a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Swishing through lush green grass then going through mid-calf-deep dead leaves before walking through ankle-deep moss when going barefoot while hiking in the woods to climb a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Warming your feet on blacktop before swishing through lush green grass then going through mid-calf-deep dead leaves before walking through ankle-deep moss when going barefoot while hiking in the woods to climb a hill to read a book while taking lunch sitting on moss in the sun.

Things There Are Many Things Better Than:

Not actually having a lunch to eat.

ANTS >:(

♥ I HAD SUCH A GOOD LUNCH HOUR BB, how was your lunch all those hours ago you freakish person in another time zone?

[identity profile] maddeinin.livejournal.com 2008-05-06 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
IT SOUNDED WONDERFUL. Mine was... ehh. Also, dinner. But I had a nice walk and spring is ridiculously early and in fact I am worrying that NATURE WILL RUN OUT OF FLOWERS because they are all blooming now. What about when it's summer for realz?

This is perhaps a strange thing to worry about.

Especially as it was quite literally freezing last night.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2008-05-06 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
OH MAN NOW I AM WORRYING TOO.

But wait! There can be MORE flowers!! You know, like how if you just leave some vegetables alone they make MORE AND MORE VEGETABLES AND THEN YOU DIE UNDER THE STRESS OF TRYING TO CAN ALL THOSE VEGETABLE FOR WINTER.

Like that!!

[identity profile] maddeinin.livejournal.com 2008-05-06 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
THIS REMINDS ME THAT I SHOULD MAKE RHUBARB PIE THIS WEEKEND. Because that is the one vegetable I have that does that.

Actually it's the only vegetable I have.

Mostly because I can kill anything. Except, apparently, rhubarb.

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2008-05-06 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Man I would be surprised if you could kill rhubarb. It's like a friggin' cockroach.

Out in cowtown we have a couple of rhubarb plants in the middle of the woods that we never water, we just occasionally go nab a stalk or two from. And they've been there all hale and hearty longer than I've been alive.

WTF RHUBARB >:(

(ps UU pie to the FTP OGTFO)

OM NOM NOM (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/216/519974483_801f576d7c.jpg). (It's got whiskey and white chocolate in it.)

Recipe! (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/109501) I seem to remember it could've done with a bit less white chocolate. But it seriously cured me rhubarb, eh-ism in one bite.

We don't really get ants where I live. We do get wasps though :( I killed my first one of the summer today!

(also - bizarrely - there was also a dead ant in the kettle. I have no idea where it came from)

[identity profile] the-wanlorn.livejournal.com 2008-05-06 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm jealous man. :( We get ants and wasps and all manner of ungodly creatures.
