Yeah, so, my dog is dying. Her coughing is all congestive heart failure-y. She, apparently, hasn't eaten regularly for a while (my mum and dad have been trying different dog food brands, and she'd eat some and then none for a day). And the last couple days, she's puked whenever she did eat. Today she kept down some scrambled eggs, which we took for a good sign!
LOL NO. For the last week, her hind end's been giving out every so often. And my mum and dad have been all "Okay, this is like Rex, and the vet then told us that with dogs this size, when they're old, their back half does that and there's nothing that can be done but make her comfortable and keep her from hurting herself when she freaks out because one minute she was walking the next her back legs her flumped on the floor."
Yeah, except, as I was eating dinner and getting ready to go back to Boston, her hind end just said "fuck this shit" and stopped working. And, well.
Look, it's just not good.
So, yeah. She's on a blanket on a tarp on a rug in the kitchen. And I'm on a blanket on a tarp on a rug next to her. And we'll see. Obviously, if she's still alive tomorrow, we're going to the vet. But, yeah. This is just like Rex. She keeps lifting up her head to pant and looks like she wants to go somewhere and then collapsing back down. I don't exactly have a lot of hope here.
I keep going "wtf is wrong with me I'm such a shitty pet owner Bran died a little bit ago and now Shabaka's dying oh christ wtf wtf wtf" and then I remember that Bran died a year ago. It doesn't seem like that long.
