Day Five and Six: 8 things that make me happy about knitting and Christmas
- Casting on. No really, it's fun.
- Teaching other people how to knit
- Binding off, because it means I never have to look at that pattern again. Unless I'm making socks or gloves.
- k2tog. I don't know. I just fucking love knitting two together. It's the highlight of any pattern for me. I don't even like making toe-up socks because I don't get to k2tog.
- People commenting on how ~talented~ I must be for being able to follow a simple pattern.
- Being easy to shop for for Christmas (step one: buy yarn)
- Basically being able to make Christmas gifts for free, since most of my yarn is gift yarn.
- Sitting with a cat on my lap in front of the woodstove, knitting.
- CHRISTMAS CAROLS. GOD I LOVE CHRISTMAS CAROLS.
- SPRITZ. I FUCKING LOVE SPRITZ TOO.
- It means the woodstove is on 24/7
- My family tries to be friendly and nice and normal
- HAVE I MENTIONED THE SPRITZ AND THE CHRISTMAS CAROLS?
- Cutting down a Christmas tree.
- Wrapping presents
- Sneaking up to wherever my parents are hiding the presents this year and steathily unwrapping & rewrapping them.

This is a new and exciting level of evil!
My favorite knitting thing is patterns where you get to drop stitches on purpose. But no-one gives me yarn, so knitting is expensive :(

I suspect this is the root of your talent for perfect wrapping.

Also! KNITTING YAY. Knitting is the best thing in the world. Well, one of the best things in the world. Yes, I know, I've only ever made scarves but! Still. One day I'll knit something else.
(I also love cross-stitch, in a very masochistic way. Squinting at white stitches on white fabric with nothing but natural light? I love it. I get to show off my awesome powers of seeing things really well when they're up close!)
