1001 reasons to never give Toshiba your business.

My laptop is a year old. This is the second time I've had to take it in for service, after the myriad of problems it had got too bad for me to just work around.

The Toshiba repair center has now had my laptop for almost a month. They told me seven days at the most. And every time I call, I get told they're waiting for some NEW part to be delivered. They replaced the fan, keyboard, and system board, and oops! Then the DVD drive failed! So now they're waiting for a new DVD drive to be shipped!

A MONTH

In what world is a month anywhere near seven days, I ask you? HINT: NO WORLD.

I am so angry right now. Have I mentioned yet that this would have taken me an hour to fix myself? I told them what needed to be replaced. Why they didn't order the goddamn DVD drive with the rest of everything I will never know. And hey! They've currently had to replace every single part I told them needed replacing!

An hour.

And you know what? I've gone beyond planning to napalm their building. I'm going to track down every single one of you who told me to buy a Toshiba, make you watch while I kill your pets and family, and then burn you alive.

Now I understand why Toshiba laptops are so much cheaper than a computer with the same specs from another company. I should have been suspicious the minute I saw that. And then when they didn't have an option for at-home service, I should've walked away from the ~good deal~ I was getting.

I am never again taking any of your advice for anything ever again. You can all suck my cock.

I had a Toshiba in college and it did really well. I had to replace the fan about two years in (I had a three year warranty) and then the motherboard about six months later after I plugged it in and it blew a fuse in france. Dealing with tech support in a foreign language SUCKS.

Both times, though, they got it back to me quickly. I don't know why you're having such a problem with them. I hope you get it back fast!

Maybe you should install the DVD drive in their FACE.

I am slightly calmer now. SLIGHTLY. I AM THINKING MAYBE I WON'T KILL ANYONE'S PETS/LOVED ONES, JUST BURN THEM ALIVE.

HAVE YOU TRIED CRYING AT THEM? THAT OFTEN WORKS WONDERS.

I WILL CHEER YOU UP WITH THIS LITTLE STORY

i was at work right and the woman i was working with is like, one of those 50+ year olds who can send email and suddenly thinks they're a computer expert. SHE TOLD ME, QUITE SERIOUSLY, that the reason the internet website wasn't responding quickly was because she's clicked on one link, and then on another and so it was confused and didn't know what to do. I WAS LIKE. HUH? BUT LEFT HER TO IT.

THEN SHE KEPT TRYING TO OPEN A XLS FILE IN NOTEPAD. THIS DIDN'T WORK OBVS, THE REASON FOR THIS, SHE INSISTED, WAS THAT IT WAS ENCRYPTED AND ONLY HER HOME COMPUTER HAD A SPECIAL PASSKEY TO ENABLE HER TO ACCESS IT. I didn't let this one go though and tried to explain it to her. THEN SHE WAS LIKE "OH HEY! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. I WILL REMEMBER THIS >:)"

AHAHAHAHAH SHE IS GOING TO BUG YOU ALL THE TIME NOW.

I remember back when I still used a Toshiba laptop in college. I tried Toshibas twice, actually. NEVER AGAIN.

Yeah, I've stayed away from Toshiba ever since my brother's experience with them - this involved them taking forever to replace a hard drive... which then crashed within a fortnight of getting the thing back.
