I need to stop forgetting to put subjects in because it pisses me off.

OH. MY GOD, INTERNET. OH MY GOD. THAT WAS THE BEST EPISODE OF COMMUNITY EVER. THAT WAS THE BEST EPISODE OF TELEVISION EVER. I CAN'T EVEN. OH MY GOD. Like, it filled me with so much joy, I actually teared up. Holy fucking shit.

In origami news, today I decided to make a stegosaurus, and it took me all fucking day because I forgot how much making a stegosaurus fucking sucks and by the end (ie, ten minutes ago) I was so sick of the whole thing that I skipped a couple steps and declared it done. But it is the last pattern in the book! Now all I have left to do are the ones that I skipped because I got too frustrated with them. THIS HAPPENS MORE OFTEN THAN YOU THINK. No pictures because I can't get enough service in my apartment to send them from my phone to my email, and I keep forgetting to do it when I'm out and about.

Also, the frosting on the cupcakes in the fridge seems to be holding up well.

FINALLY, for today's [community profile] fannish5, we have your five favorite spaceships.

Five Spaceships I Have Loved
  1. Serenity (Firefly)
Serenity just barely made the list, and only because of my love for junkheaps. If something needs a whole lotta love to keep it running, and is held together with duct tape and baling twine, you can bet your ass I love it. Even though I'm all Fireflyed out at this point in time, I still love Serenity.

  2. TARDIS (Doctor Who)
See: previous item re: baling twine and duct tape. If you have to tinker to keep it running, my eyes go *______* Plus, time and space! HOW GREAT IS THAT. Even though it's not my favorite, if I got to choose one of the ships from this list to own, it would be the TARDIS.

  3. Nostromo (Alien)
I think that there is a large possibility that I love the Nostromo more for the mood than for the ship itself. I mean, it started out all brightly lit and sterile, and just a ship. It was a little unimportant tugboat, and who the fuck cares? But it was like House of Leaves, in that it started out nothing special and then got steadily more creepy. I love the way that the Nostromo slowly gets darker and more deserted and more claustrophobic and it's wonderful.

  4. Moya (Farscape)
HOOOOOOOLY SHIT MOYA. When I started this list, I could only think of two ships, and one of them was Moya. How much do I love Moya? I don't think there are even words to describe my love for her. She is the most amazing biomechanoid I have ever seen. I have such a ridiculous love for sentient ships, even when they go bad (see: HAL9000), and Moya is no exception. Plus, I fucking love the way she takes care of everyone (I mean, as best a ship can) and, fuck. I can't find the actual bit of dialogue that I wanted to quote because I don't remember what episode it was in or what the exact wording was (or, you know, anything similar enough to find it CTRL+Fing through every transcript. Which I did). But someone, I forget who, asked Crichton why they cared so much about Moya, because it's just a ship. And Crichton says something about how she's like their mother; she brought them all together. And, just, *_____*

  5. Millennium Falcon (Star Wars)
I just. You guys. I think that the Millennium Falcon was my first spaceship love. I have a thing for junkheaps that you love a little more than you want dead, that may not look like much but got it where it counts, that you're unreasonably attached to, and I'm pretty sure this is where it started. It's this little piece of shit falling apart freighter, and it's the most important ship in the entire series. And even if it wasn't, it doesn't matter, because it's a good ship where it counts. I don't think I could ever adequately put into words why I fucking love that, and why I'm so attached to my Millennium Falcon even though it's in the shop or I'm elbow deep in grease at least once a month. This is one of those times where I really hate that I have such a problem putting shit into words, because I have so much more I want to say about this, and yet I can't translate it from in my head to out my fingers.

So much agreement on 1, 2, and 4. I would have so much difficulty choosing which I loved best.

Yes, the Millenium Falcon and the TARDIS are both like that for me. I see them and they shout "~CHILDHOOD~" to me, because Star Wars and Doctor Who were totally nights staying up watching VHS tapes with my mom when I was a toddler and on.

I love them all too! Millennium Falcon was my first love too (hell, even the name is awesome!) and Moya was just wonderful. I love that she was a person both to the characters and the writers.

Best Community episode yet!

That's a great list of ships. I have a great fondness for sentient ships and Moya is number one in that regard.
