Bye Bye Santa!

It occurs to me that Christmas is over, so I should change my default icon back to what it was before the Santa Hat came about.

=( That saddens me immensely.

And I need to remember to do a writeup of the poll...

I have good news for you! Ever hear of the 'twelve days of Christmas'? Christmas really only ends on January 6th, sometimes known as 'little Christmas' or 'women's Christmas'. Keep your hat on for a while yet!

Aye, I know, that's when we take down our tree and such, but the icons seem to be disappearing from around everywhere, so I figured I should stick with the trend and stop using mine, too.

Just not quite yet.

Just so you know, January 6th is the day the 3 wise men are supposed to have arrived to pay tribute to Jesus. It's known by a few other names as well.

Yeah, such as "Epiphany" and "Three Kings' Day". *thumbs up* I see you are quite knowledgeable.

I'm embarrassed to say I'd forgotten it was called The Epiphany.

Anyway, titles aside, you now have a decent reason to celebrate the full length of the Christmas season. I know I never give up on Christmas until the New Year, at least. We've only started Christmas week!

*blink* Okay, somehow, my point was lost (if I'm wrong, feel free to shoot me in the foot or something). Because I'm obsessive about making whatever I was originally saying clear, let me try again:

Yes, I and my family knew about Epiphany. We continue to celebrate Christmas up until the 6th (and sometimes a bit after, but that part's mostly because we're lazy and like to sing the carols).

But the icon thing is an... icon meme? And it's often wise to cease and desist with memes once the general populace seems to've ceased and desisted with them. I don't recall seeing any Santa hat icons today, so I'm assuming everyone has stopped using them. Thus I am too.

etc. etc. etc., so on and so forth, blah blah blah.

Hope you had a wonderful winter holiday!
