Hoo Boy What a Year

Well! Nothing has changed since my last post except my best dog, my favorite dog is dying.

The lump on his leg turned out to be osteosarcoma. The wholeass leg was amputated on March 5th. He's adjusted well to being a tripod as far as I can tell! So that's good news!

But with osteosarcoma, once it's bad enough to be detectable in a bone, it's usually already metastasized in the lungs microscopically. He's getting chemo (and tolerating it well! No vomiting, no diarrhea, etc.), so the vet gave him about a year to live. Only 20% of dogs who have osteosarcoma and get an amputation and chemo hit the two year mark.

But, you know, I live on a river (De Nile) so I was like no it's gonna be fine the chemo will work and he will go into remission and everything will be fine. But at the last chemo appointment they did x-rays on his lungs just to check if the chemo was working.

Guess who has a couple lumps in his lungs that are either tumors OR some blood vessel thing I didn't catch the name of!! Knowing Grem and his health record, I'm 99% certain they're tumors.

They're going to do another set of x-rays in a couple weeks to see if the lumps have grown. If they have: metastasized cancer. If they haven't: blood vessel thing.

So, yeah, my dog is dying and I'm handling it about as well as can be expected. :|

Other than that, still unemployed, still wildly stressed about everything going on in my personal life and the wider world, still just so fucking tired. I'm going to try to get to responding to people's comments, but who knows. Everything is terrible and I'm just constantly the cheerful kid in the hat giving a thumbs up going "nothing in life matters!"
