Grass and Habits
I love the smell of fresh cut grass. I guess it's because it reminds me of summers when I was little, before we got the pool. Da would be mowing the lawn and Mum would drag one of the kiddy pools out of the garage and start filling it with the hose. Then she'd let it sit while Da finished mowing, so the water would get a bit warmed than freezing cold. When it was warm enough, Kerry and I would get our Little-Tykes (or some brand like that) slide and put it over the edge so we had a water slide and play. Fresh cut grass was the only thing I could smell then. That and sunscreen. Or maybe I just love the smell of fresh cut grass. Sid brought up a point that I'm really habitual about little stuff like what I eat when I go out. I've been thinking about that and I realized how right he was. I eat the same foods in the same order nigh on every day. Whenever I go out, I order the same thing. I won't wear sunscreen or bug spray unless it smells like the same kind I used when I was little. Tons of other things. I am a creature of deeply instilled habits. I think as of late I've just been feeling a generally upset feeling. Not really over anything in particular. |
