Things I Have Thought A Lot About Today

1. How all the other conartists must look down on the Leverage team. I mean, they're good guys now. They got some Robin Hood shit going on.

me: "Oh yeah, they got collars on 'em now. Like little pussycats."
SK: god, they need five people to do the work of three!
SK: have they never heard of multitasking?
me: "Ford keeps their leashes tight. I heard they can't even do jobs by themselves anymore."

I'm just saying, maybe they were great once, but now everyone makes fun of them behind their backs. They'd make fun of them to their faces, too, except that one time, Eliot punched that guy so hard his eyeballs popped out, and really, if he's going to be that sensitive about working for The Man maybe he should just never leave his apartment.

2. "Is it your birthday? Then you're crazy."

I can't fucking get over how Peter would consider maybe throwing a party if it was Neal's birthday. I mean, in the end he would decide no party anyway because he's a convicted felon and convicted felons don't get cake.

And then Elizabeth and June would throw a birthday party for him anyway and Peter would just sit in the corner going >:( at everyone.

3. Elizabeth being absolutely delighted about getting to steal things from the seizure locker. I mean, okay, technically, it isn't stealing, but whatever. She is delighted by it and I bet Neal sometimes comes over and teaches her how to pick pockets and Peter gets all >:( because Neal's groping his wife and then gets all >:( because his wife is groping him back and then Neal comes over and gropes him and Peter's sort of mollified until he realizes his wallet's gone and Neal's going "See? It's easy." to Elizabeth.

Dirty pool, Neal, that is dirty pool.

4. Okay, the scene where Neal's making Peter look like his bodyguard, and tells Peter "Now say 'I'll be back'." and Peter opens his mouth for a good half second before "No." comes out.

Guys, you guys, he was totally going to say it. OH PETER.

5. The bit with the van, where Neal's like "Can I come in? :D? :D?" and everyone mad at him and he just pulls back like "Whoa. Why are you being mean to me? Geez, I'm just trying to help."

There's a whole bunch of other times he does it in the first episode, too, where he's all :D? :D? and someone (USUALLY PETER) is mean to him and he pulls back like a turtle. I'm torn between thinking he's going "Well no one likes me, but if I'm excited/happy/something enough, then they'll be forced to!" and is disappointed every time it doesn't work, or if he's just trying to make friends (because he's always been good at making friends, except usually his targets aren't feds who can see right through him, and that's making it a little harder) and is all "wtf why isn't this working?".

Man I had a very coherent conversation about that last night that I don't remember anymore and can't pull up to refresh my memory because all my logs are at home. BUT TRUST ME. EITHER SITUATION IS HILARIOUS.

I LOVE WHITE COLLAR. And I haven't even seen the second episode.
