I am trying to write a book review that isn't just incomprehensible flailing, and it is a lot harder than it looks. :( So have a meme instead.


1. It's 2AM and you are not home. You are more than likely:

I am literally at one of three places: driving home from hanging out with mona, visiting soleta and kate, or staying at my parents' house overnight for some reason.

2. What’s the last thing you spent more than $100 on?

It was this motherboard last year. Which, uh, I should really finish installing. :(

3. What do your bank cheques look like?

There is a large chance that they have Winnie the Pooh characters on them. Just sayin'.

4. Where did the shirt you are currently wearing come from?

IDK, it's so old that the label has worn off, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say Lane Bryant. It's just a boring V-neck orange shirt.

5. Name something that is on your Christmas wish list:

I don't have anything on my Christmas wish list. Uh, I guess a new video card? I have no idea.

6. What color is your toothbrush?

My toothbrush is not a color, it is a Batman, okay. When I was at my parents' house for my sister's graduation, I brushed my teeth with my toothbrush there, and oh my god, adult toothbrushes are so big what the hell how do you get your back teeth with monstrosities like that?

7. Name something you collect...

I don't really properly collect anything these days? I used to collect pewter figurines, but lord knows where they've all gone. The closest thing I come to actually collecting is yarn, but that's less "collecting" and more "building an epic stash of things I will never use."

8. Last restaurant you ate at.

Tucker's Bistro. Still amazing.

9. Last person you bought a birthday card for:

My sister.

10. What is your worst bad habit?

You know how the skin at the very edges of the top of your fingernails gets hard and dead sometimes? I pick/clip those bits off, and then keep picking at them until I have raw spots on my fingers. I'm doing it right now.

11. Name a magazine you subscribe to?

I'm fairly certain a still get Discover, although my subscription may have ended last week. I used to get CRAFT but they stopped doing paper copies, and I used to get Scientific American, but I let that subscription lapse. Which is going to happen to Discover soon. I get a quilting magazine, too, but I forget which one it is.

12. Your favorite pizza toppings?

Pepperoni. :( lol moast boaring.

13. Whose number were you looking up the last time you used a phone book?

The garage down the road from me so I could call about getting my passenger side mirror replaced. Which I still haven't done.

14. Who is the person that you love most?

I am uncomfortable saying that I love people, both platonically and romantically.

15. What is the last thing you cooked?

Crème brûlée. Although, I forgot that it was in the oven. For twenty extra minutes. :| I haven't tried one yet, but I think they might be ruined.

16. Name something you wouldn’t want to buy used?

I had to actually think about this one for a while. I think that the only thing (or, rather category of things) I would not by used are sex toys.

17. Which shoe do you put on first?

Right shoe if I'm stepping into sandals, left shoe if it's an actual shoe.

18. What is the last thing you remember losing?

I bought a new showerhead, and somewhere in between taking it out of the plastic to putting it in, I managed to go from three washers to two. I have no fucking clue where the third one went. I'm assuming, for the sake of my sanity, that the dog found it and ate it, because otherwise it just disappeared into thin air, and that's not cool.

19. What is the ugliest piece of furniture in your house?

My computer chair. Hold on, I'll take a picture, because the upholstery is something special. Not only is it hideous to begin with, but it's been on that chair for at least ten years, possibly more like twenty, so at least eight cats have had a chance to tear it up.



20. Last thing you bought and ended up returning?

I don't think I've ever returned anything in my life. :(

21. What perfume/cologne do you wear?

When I wear anything, it's BPAL's Dorian. It's literally the only scent I've found that doesn't give me a massive, all day splitting headache.

22. Your favorite board game?

My love for Betrayal at House on the Hill is epic. Monsters! Exploring! Not knowing who the bad guy is! AWESOME!

23. Last board game you played?

Not counting Apples to Apples because that is a card game, it was most likely Settlers of Catan, by virtue of the fact that, when I'm around people who are willing to play board games, it's the one that's most likely that everyone can agree to play.

24. Where did your vehicle come from?

I have no idea. My parents bought it to be me and my sister's car when I was in senior year of college, so that my dad didn't have to drop me off at school (half an hour away) on the way to work and pick me up on his way home anymore. And now I own it, and I love it just a little more than I want it dead.

25. If a movie was made about your life what would the theme song be?

I don't know, something without words. Perhaps something that's a mix between that Requiem for a Dream song that everybody knows and "In the House - In a Heartbeat" from the 28 Days Later soundtrack. But, really, I have no fucking clue.

26. You're sad, who can cheer you up easily?

:| This is too close to having to say "I feel a slight amount of affection for you" so I am going to skip it.

27. What was the color of the bridesmaid dresses of the last wedding you went to?

Oh lord, I have no idea. I was ten, it was my mum's best friend's wedding, and I don't remember much of it beyond being miserable because it was up on a giant hill that involved hiking through the woods to get there, which in general would be awesome, except it was spring, and whatever was blooming up there I was really allergic to.

28. What house cleaning chore do you hate to do the most?

Oh, lord, I don't think there's anything I hate more than cleaning floors. I mean, vacuuming is okay, and sweeping is okay, but getting out a mop and trying to get it actually clean and then avoid stepping on it till it dries so you're not getting dirt all back over it and just D:

29. What is your favorite way to eat chicken?

In nugget form, dipped in honey. I know. Alternately, if it's cooked so that it's not squeaky when I chew on it, and I have barbecue sauce, it's pretty fucking good, too.

30. It is your birthday. You hope the cake is?

Something that no one's angry over (ie, because the bakery didn't do something right, or they almost forgot to order it in time, or almost forgot to get it, or just didn't feel like driving there that day, or etc etc etc). So, basically, I hope it is a cake that does not involve my family.

Up until a couple years ago, mine was cheese. And then I branched out to the new, and scary land of pepperoni and cheese. I still hate everything else, though. Including square-ish chunks of pepperoni. If it's not round, it does not get to be on my pizza.

OMG, I do this, too. Compulsively. Especially when I'm nervous or stressed or sad. They're a mess right now, actually.

I figure it's a lot better nervous habbit then when I used to pick at my fingernails themselves until I'd ripped off the white tips all the way down to a bit below the quick. :D? :D? :(

Omg, I have not had chicken with honey in ages. AND CREME BRULEE. THAT IS MY MOST FAVORITE DESSERT EVER. I've had this impression that it's not something you can really make at home (hello, ridiculousness), so it's cool to hear about you baking it.

Everyone has the impression that you can't make it at home, which makes chefs SO HAPPY because it's a quick dessert they can whip up and then EVERYONE WILL BE IMPRESSED BY IT even though a basic creme brulee takes very little work. The most difficult part is scalding the cream.
